The AVLIC site was a pretty big project compared to most of the sites I do, and involved a lot of back-end development work. The site needed a membership system, which entailed processing payments with PayPal (both sending the applicant to it for making payment, and automatically processing the application once payment was received). I also needed to build a new version of their Canadian Evaluation System, which they use to test and certify interpreters. The whole thing was built with Drupal, a system I had never used before, but was able to pick up quickly (though I found it needlessly complicated).
